'Weird Party'

Scene 1: RR's House (Sheringham) - Day

RR was hosting a party at her house in Sheringham. The house was near where she used to live as a child, very close to my Nan's. However, the house was huge (not the size of all the other council houses on this road) and had a huge garden. Everyone was invited - there were hundreds of dream characters and I recognised many of them. My own family were there. Everyone appeared to look the age I had remembered them looking when I lived in Sheringham as a teenager/young adult. RR did not have 3 children in the dream. I wondered how RR had become so popular - based on the number of guests at her party. I became aware that this was an annual event which took place every year - this was the first year I had been invited. I walked outside and saw there were many, many guests in the garden, which was full of sun-scorched over-grown grass, and not much else. I identified this area as looking similar to the area at the bottom of one of the 'groves' - the little cul-de-sacs which lead off from the road my Nan's house is one - this would mean we were less than a minute away from my Nan's house, but in the opposite direction to RR's actual former home, which was less than one minute away from my Nan's house in the other direction. This realisation occurred in the dream, but did not prompt me to become lucid, even though I was clearly questioning my knowledge of the local area in this dream. 

All the guests were happy, drinking alcohol. I went back inside the house. SH arrived, flanked by 2 males, one on each side. SH used to be a very talented skateboarder and I used to like him quite a bit. His family were regulars in my Mum's pub. I spoke briefly to SH, I cannot remember what was said. SH walked off. I then realised I was very keen to resume conversation with him, and got the impression that I might be able to 'pull' him (i.e. engage in something sexual with him). I could not see where he had gone. A very tall, slim woman with a shaved head, dressed in New Age hippie fashion approached me. She took me to the side of the room, by a window. I could see the beach and sea from the window, even though this would be impossible from this location in Sheringham. I then noticed that the female dream character had a long, cylindrical object protruding from her face - I then became aware that it was mounted on a kind of brace which was strapped to her top lip. I wondered how I had not noticed this when she first approached me. As if she could read my mind, she said: 'Don't worry, it's instead of a cigar'. I told her I wanted to find SH. The female told me: 'I can get him for you'. The understanding was that she would locate SH, persuade him to spend time with me and then come and get me, so I wandered off. 

I went upstairs, into a bedroom. It was quite dark inside - the light was not on. I found that the bedroom had a large desk or table at the end opposite the entrance. There was a doll's house on the desk, and I saw this from a different perspective to where I was standing in the room, without actually moving or changing position. My stepbrother, JM was in the room. At first, I entered the room and stood behind JM, who was in front of the table. When my perspective switched, I was viewing JM as if I was standing looking at him from in front, on the other side of the table. This way, the doll's house blocked/obstructed my view of the other items on the table, which I probably could have seen from my initial view behind JM. I then noticed - from my position behind the table, that I could see myself in third-person perspective, between the doorway and JM.

I then seemed to switch back to my normal perspective, standing by the door, behind JM. I walked over to him and started talking to him. I then noticed that all the objects on the table belonged to me - they were hair and beauty products and lots of items of jewellery - perhaps all that I own. JM was stealing my possessions. He didn't even try to hide the fact, he was picking up my things and putting them in his pocket. I shouted at him, angry, aiming to get him to stop, but he laughed at me, and kept stealing my things. I could only watch. After a moment, he left the room, saying: 'I'll see you downstairs' - very casually, ignoring my anger or the fact he had been stealing from me. I went to the table, to check which items were missing. I picked up a pearl necklace and earrings. I could not work out what had been stolen, because there were so many items on the table. I went downstairs, and saw my Mum, almost immediately. I said: 'JM has been stealing my things' to which my Mum said: 'It's OK'. She seemed like she didn't care and just wanted to have fun and drink her cocktail.

I cannot recall anything else about this dream.

Dream Information:

• RR's dad is married to my cousin HM's paternal aunt, making them cousins by marriage. RR's former husband tried to establish a romantic relationship with me after they separated, but it didn't work out because he wasn't my type and 'slut-shamed' me over a confession that I like to make homemade pornography for my previous - and future - sexual partners. I never ended up ever seeing him in person, our conversation occurred online and I decided I didn't want to meet up with him

Dreamsigns:

• Everyone appeared to be their younger selves - the age they would have been when I lived in Sheringham prior to going away to university
• RR's house was massive
• My changes in perspective and the fact I saw myself in the third-person perspective
• My possessions were in RR's house (bedroom)

Potential Day/Dream Residue:

• The day before this dream DL had looked at a tobacco packet and noted that the yellow colour was a very strange shade. The tobacco brand is the same as SH's last name
• On the day of this dream I had watched an episode of Chris Morris' The Day Today (1994) in which Alan Partridge (Steve Coogan), appearing as a sports commentator goes trackracing with a female champion driver - he wears a camera mounted on his helmet - this inspired the headwear seen on the New Age dream character in this dream

Waking Thoughts & Emotions:

This dream was clearly not related to my Dream Incubation Experiment, but I quite enjoyed it, despite the fact I was being stolen from in this dream.

RANDOM 'FUTURE TALLULAH' ANNOTATION:

Hi, Tallulah from the future here. I was researching past dreams for a current (April 2020) dream post I am writing and I wanted to add my 'future' thoughts to old posts, just to add another layer of analysis and recording! Here are some April 2020 observations about this dream:

Reason I was here on 24 April 2020:

I am researching previous dreams involving RR's childhood home as a dream scene location, as it occurred in a recent (future) dream - Dream 1069 - 'Trisha Paytashlash' (28 March 2020) which took place during a Dream Incubation Experiment - A Mermaid Dream. 

Commentary:
While this is a relatively funny dream to look back on, there is nothing that really stands out as being odd, weird or bizarre, when considering this in conjunction with Dream 1069 - 'Trisha Paytashlash'.
